AIDA 4: Assistant Instructor Course
The AIDA 4 course is designed for experienced freedivers aiming to advance their skills and prepare for a role as an assistant instructor. This course will not only elevate your personal performance to greater depths and breath-hold times but will also equip you with the teaching techniques and safety protocols required to guide others in the sport of freediving. By the end of the course, you’ll be capable of holding your breath for 3:30 minutes and dive comfortably to a depth of 32-38 meters. Over the course, you’ll:
- Advanced Techniques & Freediving Physics: Master complex breath-hold techniques, deep-water equalization methods, and develop a deep understanding of the physical and physiological principles that govern freediving, such as pressure dynamics and gas exchange at extreme depths.
- Physiological Adaptation & Mental Focus: Build on your ability to handle longer dives and breath-holds while focusing on mental techniques for improved relaxation, focus, and dive planning. Learn how the body adapts at depth and how to optimize your training for maximum performance.
- Teaching Skills & Instructor Preparation: Gain the knowledge and tools to effectively assist with freediving courses. Learn to guide students through their progressions, demonstrate proper techniques, and provide constructive feedback. Develop your skills in safety management, buddy systems, and emergency response protocols.
- Confined & Open Water Mastery: Continue refining your diving techniques with regular practice in both controlled environments and open water. Focus on complex dives, deep-water exercises, and real-world safety scenarios while preparing to lead and supervise others.
This course is not only about improving your personal performance but also about becoming a mentor and a reliable resource for future divers, ready to assist instructors and support safe, effective training experiences.
